OK, so I peeped this video over¬†on the HellBellz blog whatthehellz.com ¬†(one of my fav blogs) and I had to share it because it’s HILARIOUS to me!¬† We’ve all been there girls, I know I have.¬† Although I’ve grown out of this bad habit, (CUZ I’M A LAADAY!) it probably will never stop being funny.¬† Seriously though¬†ladies, don’t get caught in the streets this year, it’s cold outside…

Harvey Nichols Holiday 2011

Is this suppose to be cute ?

Is this the way we plan to represent ourselves in 2012 ?

Is the Toddler her sister or her daughter ?

I don’t know the answer to any of these questions however I remain disgusted and confused. Coming across this ad has reminded me just how misrepresented woman of color remain in ¬†this country.

So as of now S.I.S  is officially dismissed.

BBVC (we¬†don’t ¬†play that ).

Lots of exciting stuff has been happening lately that I wanted to share.  We are excited to be working with German photographer Amos Fricke during his stay in NYC.  Amazing POV this guy has!  Here are some mood boards he put together for our upcoming shoot in Central Park.

Can’t wait!

We did our latest editorial shoot this past weekend at the incredible Gershwin Hotel.  We had the opportunity to work with the talented Landa Penders and makeup artist Kristy Strate.  This shoot was full of color and energy and we are dying to see the outcome!  Check out this cool backstage video Landa put together for us.

Last month we collaborated with the contemporary¬†women’s label Evie and Victor for their Real Girl photo¬†series.¬†¬†We shot in Bushwick, Brooklyn with fashion photographer Ryan Christopher VanWilliams and model Jasmina.¬† We’re very pleased with the outcome.¬† We love collaborations!

These are some of the designers who will be showing their AW ’12 lines this February at London Fashion Week. Here are some of their strong ready to wear looks that refine and offer unique variations of the current trends.

                                                                  Jaeger London

                                                                  Mark Fast

Osman                   Mulberry                    Sass & Bide             Roksanda  Ilincic

                                                                     Giles

I love menswear inspired looks, and though not every single one of these designer’s work is available internationally, I find the looks inspiring for the day to day wardrob and future winter shopping excursions.

Oh and these newcomers who can be found sometimes at Opening Ceremony are both kinda dope and I’ hope to come into them somehow.
